Leading Through Resistance
I wrote an article on Linkedin on Leading through resistance that shared highlights from my Mindfulness, Equity, and Inclusion Conference for Education Leaders of Color in Minnesota in June.
During the event, our main focus of discussion was how we, as leaders of color, could support one another to ensure that every scholar of color achieves their dreams, finds their voice, and succeeds in their education.
During the retreat, participants shared and reflected their own experiences, took the time to support each other in this process, and brainstormed ways we can give our leaders of tomorrow a stronger voice and meaningful educational experience.
Some of the key takeaways from our discussions and reflections included:
We need more self-care
We need to be unapologetic
We need to lean into resistance
We can't lead from isolation
